This cottontail rabbit was the first sculpture created for the “Closed Eyes” series in March 2020. When COVID-19 began to spread through the country. Checking the daily news to keep track of a vaccine's progress, mortality tolls, and virus complications had become a routine for me. All this knowledge was both overwhelming and intimidating. However, I wanted to focus on something positive, so I began creating, methodical, calming artwork.
