I SEE YOU
As a Diné person, I understand caregiving as a way of helping one another navigate the world, a way to stay in balance with the land, our families, and our communities. Through loss, grief becomes a way of remembering, and remembering becomes a way of honoring those who have walked with us. Each piece is my way of acknowledging the love I have for the caregivers who made survival possible.
Working with metal, stone, glass, and paper allows me to explore the different ways care can feel strong, grounding, fragile, and luminous. The figures and forms reflect the quiet strength of the people who nurtured me and the layered relationships that come with love. Every piece carries some part of its influence and teachings. Reflecting care that is strong, steady, grounding, and delicate at its core, a reminder that something can hold weight while still letting light through.
